I really enjoyed the systematic learning with Ain Laoshi’s clear teaching methods. The role-playing activities, like acting as a seller, made learning fun and practical. I’ve even started to enjoy Mandarin songs! Although learning Mandarin can be challenging, it’s definitely worth it. I like that Ain lǎoshī always entertains my questions outside class hours, even on her day off, and responds with great explanations. For homework, I interviewed Chinese friends in Mandarin, and I also understand more while watching Chinese dramas. I feel proud of myself, doing something meaningful as I’m retired. I really enjoyed my Mandarin classes with Bunga Laoshi because of the interactive and fun learning environment. One of my most memorable experiences was sitting for an exam alongside much younger students. Even though we were at different stages of life, the nervousness felt just like my university days. I picked up Mandarin as a way to stay busy, reading and learning new words, and it also makes it easier to connect with my Chinese friends, even though I still have a long way to go. Learning Mandarin isn’t easy, but it’s very rewarding. I learn new words and sentences each week, and I’m excited for the day I can understand and speak it well, making conversations much more fun. The Mandarin class with Izzati Laoshi provides a very fun and supportive learning environment, with people from different backgrounds and ages encouraging me to practice the language. One of the most interesting experiences was learning how to have proper conversations in Mandarin and actually practicing them in real-life situations. I’m slowly starting to understand conversations and gain confidence to reply and join in. Learning Mandarin has been challenging but fun, and I’m happy with my progress. The class is always interactive, with lots of ways to engage students, and the lessons are always related to real-life situations, which makes learning enjoyable.

The course module is very well-developed, and Ain Laoshi is attentive, patient, and very knowledgeable. Taking the HSK exam and doing role-playing as buyer and seller were some of the most memorable experiences, along with meeting new friends. I’m now more confident speaking Mandarin daily and can interact with my customers, understanding what they say. Learning has been fun, motivating, and I can see my progress. I love the way Agnes Laoshi explains the lessons, everything is easy to understand. I managed to count from 1 to 10 in Chinese and memorized it. Since I meet a lot of Chinese speakers at work, learning Mandarin has become really important for me. I love the class and hope to become fluent in both conversation and writing. I also wish Agnes Laoshi could continue teaching me in the next level class!

I knew nothing about Mandarin at first, and I realized self-learning wasn’t enough. I needed a proper platform, which is how I found Kunkwan. I got to meet new friends from various backgrounds and laoshi who are very helpful and supportive. Learning Mandarin at Kunkwan is really fun. One of my most interesting experiences was an assignment that required speaking with a Chinese friend. I felt shy at first, afraid of making mistakes in pronunciation, but my friends were very helpful, correcting me like native speakers and teaching me new vocabulary useful for real-life conversations. I think Mandarin is very important, as China and Malaysia are trading partners, so learning it helps me understand conversations better in both business and personal contexts. It also helps me enjoy my favourite Mandarin songs more easily. I feel grateful to be part of the Kunkwan community and always look forward to the next class. Learning in Kunkwan is very fun and relaxing, as the laoshi always keeps students engaged and patiently answers our questions to make sure we understand.
